An equipment trailer is bought on one number: what the machine weighs with its attachments and a full tank. Skid steers, mini excavators and compact tractors all weigh more in working trim than the brochure suggests.

Equipment trailers for sale, sized for real machines

Deckover gives you a flat deck above the wheels and the full width to work with, at the cost of a higher load height. Low-profile sits between the wheels and loads more easily but gives up width. Beavertails and fold-up ramps decide how painful loading actually is day to day.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions buyers ask about this type

Take the machine's operating weight, add attachments and fuel, then add the trailer's own weight. Buy above that total. Overloading is the most common cause of a declined warranty claim.

Deckover gives full width and a flat deck but sits higher, so ramps are steeper. Low-profile loads more easily but the wheel wells eat into usable width.

Not always. Under roughly 14,000 lb GVWR a bumper pull is fine. Above that a gooseneck is far more stable. See bumper pull vs gooseneck.
